#2. University of Birmingham

The student population includes 23,155 undergraduate and 12,605 postgraduate students, which is the 7th largest in the UK (out of 169). The annual income of the university for 2020–21 was £774.1 million of which £168.3 million was from research grants and contracts, with an expenditure of £738.5 million.

The university gives offers of admission to 79.2% of its applicants, the 8th highest amongst the Russell Group. In the 2016–17 academic year, the university had a domicile breakdown of 76:5:18 of UK:EU:non-EU students respectively with a female to male ratio of 56:44. #3. University of Kent

The university has its main campus north of Canterbury situated within 300 acres (1.2 km2) of parkland, housing over 6,000 students, as well as campuses in Medway and Tonbridge in Kent and European postgraduate centers in BrusselsAthensRome, and Paris.

The University is international, with students from 158 different nationalities and 41% of its academic and research staff being from outside the United Kingdom. It is a member of the Santander Network of European universities encouraging social and economic development.

#4. University of Bristol

#5. University of Manchester

The University of Manchester is a member of the Russell Group, the N8 Group, and the worldwide Universities Research Association. This school, inclusive of its predecessor institutions, has had 25 Nobel laureates amongst its past and present students and staff, the fourth-highest number of any single university in the United Kingdom.

Admission Requirements

Due to differences in education systems in Nigeria and the UK, candidates who have completed the SSCE must successfully complete a university-recognized foundation program before joining an undergraduate program.

Students who earn five high marks on the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) Level B2, including all Science, Mathematics, and English subjects, get consideration for University’s Science and Engineering with an integrated foundation year program. The West African Senior School Certificate (WASSC) and the Senior School Certificate (NECO) are not currently accepted for entry to any of our bachelor’s degree programs.

However, applicants that have completed the WASSC or NECO can be considered for entry to one of our International Foundation Programmes. These provide opportunities for students to progress to a linked bachelor’s degree program one year later, providing that the foundation program is satisfactorily passed.
