The Slovak Republic government is awarding scholarships to all eligible students of developing countries. And this scholarships are open to all international students who wants to pursue their higher educational studies in the Slovak Republic. In addition, the students can enroll on their Bachelor’s, Master’s, Postgraduate or Doctoral Degree programmes.

Government provides this scholarships as a long-term development strategy and cooperation of the Slovak Republic. And in this 2022, the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic will implement bilateral development cooperation through the government scholarship programs.

 

Application Deadline: International candidates who wishes to partake in this scholarship must submit their programme application on or before 30th May, 2022.

 

Eligibility For The EU Slovak Government Scholarships for Developing Countries, 2022

  • Students from developing countries can apply for this award.
  • This government scholarship may be awarded to a national of a partnering country as defined in Subsection 2, who has firstly, a temporary residence for the purpose of studies. Secondly, a temporary residence as a third party national, granted Slovak Living Abroad status. And thirdly, the right to stay on the territory of the Slovak Republic for a period in excess of three months.
  • A full-time public university student who is a participant in language education for the purposes of university studies.
  • For a first-level or second-level academic program or the combination of the two, the applicant must be at least, 18 years of age and not more than 26 years. And secondly, the applicant must be at least, 23 years of age and not more than 35 years of age with respect to language education for studies of a third-level academic programme.
  • Language Requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language and other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

How to Apply

  • The application mode is online. Complete the registration by filling the application form at the home page on Registration. When you have successfully registered, you will receive a confirmation e-mail and a password which you need to log in to your account.
  • Moreover, compulsory attachments must be added to the application. Also note that the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the SR will not accept any application without compulsory attachments. As a result, your application will be automatically disqualified from the nomination process.

Benefits Of EU Slovak Government Scholarships for Developing Countries, 2022

Government Scholarships of the Slovak Republic will comprise of the following items in the 2022/2023 academic year:

– For the first and second levels of university study:

Monthly scholarship: 280 €

One-time stipend upon the commencement of study in the SR: 35 €

One-time stipend upon the completion of study in the SR: 100 €

Monthly stipend for public university: 80 €

– For the third level of university study:

Monthly scholarship: 330 €

One-time stipend upon the commencement of study in the  SR: 35 €

One-time stipend upon the completion of study in the SR: 100 €

Monthly stipend for public university: 240 €

– For language and preparatory studies for all levels of university study:

Monthly scholarship: 280 €

One-time stipend upon the commencement of study in the SR: 35 €

Monthly stipend for public university: 80 €

In the event of a significant change in the living standards in Slovakia, it is possible to adjust the amount of monthly scholarship in the form of valorization in accordance with the financial possibilities.

Overview of fees in the course of study in the SR

– dormitory accommodation: 46 – 77 €/month

– meals (8.00 €/day): 240 €/ month

Upon the commencement of studies, the following expenses must be covered:

  • medical examination: Europe/Africa, Asia                           183 €/264 €
  • interview related to entrance application procedure       20 – 80 €

A similar situation applies upon the scholarship holder’s completion of studies due to increased costs related to

  • completion of degree work 33 €
  • dissertation 50 €
  • translation and authentication of diploma 33 €

Incentive stipend – it shall be paid one year in arrears, (e.g., the stipend for excellent academic performance in the first year of study shall be paid in the 2nd year of study) as follows:

  • bonus for grade point average of 3                                                     50 €/month
  • for PhD students for exams passed by the required deadline 170 €/year
