All students accepted into qualified online Master’s degree programs provided by American University are eligible for an online program scholarship.

• Master of Arts in Economics with a concentration in Applied Economics
• A Master of Arts in Strategic Communication is required.
• Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Policy
• A Master of Science in Health Promotion Management is required.
• Master of Science in Homeland Security and Counter-Terrorism
• A Master of Science in Nutrition Education is required.

Scholarship value or inclusions:
Each scholarship award is worth US $10,000. (Up to $10,000 for an online Master of Arts in Strategic Communication).

• Online Master of Arts in Economics with an Applied Economics Specialization: 10 courses (30 credit hours), $1,812/credit hour = $54,360*
• Master of Science in Health Promotion Management online: 10 courses (30 credit hours), $1,812/credit hour = $54,360
• Master of Science in Nutrition Education online: 10 courses (30 credit hours), $1,812/credit hour = $54,360*
• Master of Arts in Strategic Communication online: 10 courses (30 credit hours), $1,812/credit hour = $54,360*
• Master of Public Administration and Policy online: 12 courses (36 credit hours), $1,812/credit hour = $65,232*
• Master of Science in Counter-Terrorism and Homeland Security online: 12 courses (36 credit hours), $1,812/credit hour = $65,232*
(*Attendance costs do not include the $40 per semester technology fee.)
Eligibility
Scholarships will be awarded only to those who have outstanding academic credentials and leadership abilities. Throughout the program, scholars must maintain a strong academic standing.
Candidates for the Online Master of Arts in Economics, Applied Economics Specialization Scholarship must maintain a 3.0 GPA or above for the first two semesters of the online program to be considered.
Candidates for the Online Master of Arts in Strategic Communication Scholarship will be evaluated holistically, taking into account academic qualifications, professional experience, and remarkable leadership abilities.
The Online Master of Public Administration and Policy Scholarships are open to students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale) or above in their undergraduate program.
Only students with a cumulative 3.4 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or above in their undergraduate program are eligible for the Online Master of Science in Health Promotion Management Scholarships.
Only students with a cumulative 3.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or above in their undergraduate program are eligible for the Online Master of Science in Counter-Terrorism and Homeland Security Scholarships.
Only students with a cumulative 3.4 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or above in their undergraduate program are eligible for the Online Master of Science in Nutrition Education Scholarships.

Generally, applicants will be assessed based on their course applications. The application deadline for the online program depends on which term you are applying for. Please contact the university’s online admissions staff for a specific timeline for when your application file needs to be fully submitted.
